O carnaval volta com força total à Cidade do Samba
O prefeito Geraldo Hilário, com desfile  do rei Momo, Otávio Sperancini, e sua rainha, abriu o Carnaval de Timóteo, na Alameda 31 de Outubtro, a passarela do samba,  sexta-feira,12, à noite. A folia prossegue neste sábado,13, com início às 21 horas, com desfiles dos blocs Pluma e Paetês; Afoxé e Tô Nem. Já no domingo,14, é a grande apoteose com o desfile das escolas de samba, começando com a Vai Quem Quer, às 21 horas, seguida das Unidos do Quitandinho e Os Boca Brancas, fechando o desfile e só voltando na terça-feira, fechando o carnaval da Cidade do Samba.
Na segunda-feira,15, o desfile dos blocaos caricatos, a partir das 21 horas: Os Machões, Tem Nada a Ver, Império da Sede e 100 Limites. Na quarta-feira de cinzas, a partir das 18 horas, começa a apuração para conhecer os campeões do carnaval timotense.
